What is “zone”?

What is “paleo/zone”?

The combination of both diets (Zone for quantity, Paleo for quality) seems to result in the best possible nutrition for mankind in terms of longevity, performance and health.

What is “C”, “P” and “F”?

C, P and F are the abbreviations for Carbohydrate-, Protein- und Fat-Blocks. These are the units you calculate with in the Zone Diet for ease of use. For example…

  • 2 Eggs (2P)

…means that 2 Eggs is 2 protein zone blocks (2 x 7g of protein). To make this a Zone-friendly meal, you would have to add “2C” and “2F”.

You are using dairy products in your recipes. That’s not paleo!

Well, yes and no. First of all, raw milk is very natural and it has been available for millions of years. And, obviously, over the last few thousand years, some of us got used (evolved) to drinking milk even after infancy. Second, milk is just too awesome and nutritious to be ignored. For those of you who still do not want to drink milk, most of the recipes on this site are dairy free.
